My all-time favorite track is a little quarter-mile bullring, the Peoria Speedway. I grew up at this track. It's famous for two groove side by side racing with dirt late models. This video doesn't exactly showcase those virtues but does give an interesting perspective from the driver's view.
During my high school and college years, I watched a lot of races at the Rockford Speedway. My all-time favorite was seeing Dick Trickle lose to Ramo Stott by less than a car length in the 200-lap National Short Track Championship in the early 70s.
Carol and I ventured to China to watch the 2008 edition of the Macau Grand Prix. Our trip was outstanding, although as you can see from this video, spectating wasn't the best for this race.
On November 2, 2008, Trackchasing's First Mother and I ventured down to South America for a visit to the South Dakota Circuit in Timehri, Guyana. The people were wonderful and we saw racing on a rainy day.
In October 2008, I saw my first races in Ireland. The bangers were the best by far on a cold and windy day. Check out this video to see what the track looked like.
Carol and I visited the Sturup Raceway in Sweden on May 10, 2008. We found this one of the best tracks for viewing the racing action of any road course we have seen.
Carol and I used a "bank holiday" Monday to see some local rallycrosss racing in Denmark. It was a fun day.
I was a long way from home when I came through the gates of the Bira Circuit in Thailand. What was most unusual about this trip is I had a taxi driver take me 100 miles one-way from Bangkok to the track in Pataya. I don't think he understood how long the drive was or that he would have to wait six hours at the track for me!
I attended the Durban Grand Prix in Durban, South Africa in February, 2008. My trip to South Africa was outstanding but I couldn't see much of the racing on this narrow street circuit.
Carol and I very much enjoyed our trip to Mexico City. It's a great place to visit. Getting to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriquez venue for the A1GP race was a real madhouse.
My visit to Jamaica to the Dover Raceway was one of my best road racing experiences I've had. The track featured rolling hills and allowed me to see the racing action from multiple vantage points.
This trip took me from Germany to the Czech Republic and then to Austria. It was a cold day in September, 2008 for road racing. This video will show you what cities the size of Brno offer in Central Europe.
My stay in Costa Rica had me on the ground for just 24 hours. They have a beautiful track in Costa Rica and beautiful women as well. This video focuses on the latter.
I spent some trackchasing time in Barbados in December, 2007. I loved the crowd and met one of the most important businessmen in the country in one Bizzy Williams.
I started off my 2008 trackchasing season with a visit to Barnes Lake for their ice racing. The people were great and the scenery was gorgeous.
I've seen racing at 42 tracks in the U.K. including events in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man. I absolutely love their banger racing.
